Sports Funding Program

Studies have shown that sports participation offers countless benefits for young people. Beyond physical health, sports can enhance mental well-being, improve academic performance and social connections, and instill valuable life skills.

However, many young people in foster care, unlike most children, face barriers to participating in sports. Lack of access to equipment, coaching, and financial support can hinder their potential and prevent them from enjoying the benefits of sports.

All Saints Church Foster Care Project Sports Funding Program, with the help of caring donors, is committed to leveling the playing field. The program offers sports funding to current, some former, and transition aged foster youth. These funds are available to youth who need funding to participate in a sports program for items that cannot be obtained from traditional DCFS resources in a timely manner. This support can cover essential costs like:

• Registration and Team membership fees
• Athletic shoes and other apparel
• Sports equipment
• Gym memberships
• Travel expenses
